Modern Texas Wedding // Crystal + Rory

Today’s wedding Wednesday is so unique, we seriously can’t wait for yall to sink your teeth in it. Kind of appropriate for us to feature this wedding on such a rainy day, because this sweet couple saw their fair share of rain on their wedding day.

Crystal + Rory got married on Crystal’s family’s property in Paluxy right outside of Granbury, Texas. It’s practically the hill country with beautiful views and dreamy landscapes. Crystal, a talented interior designer, teamed up with Jen Rios, one of our all time favorite wedding planners, to design the wedding of her dreams. With a “Texas Meets New York” vibe they paired textured linens, clean lined dishes and geometric patterns with cactus, succulents and native plants to give an edgy feel to a Texas country wedding. The end result was pure magic and captured perfectly by Ashley with Letter A Photography.

Some of our favorite elements of the wedding are the potted plants and cacti down the aisle, the lush greenery wall we made with that fun neon sign which doubled as a ceremony AND head table backdrop. We are also very obsessed with all the various vessels we used for the plants on the tables. Terra cotta pots, metal tins, concrete vases and geometric terrariums made for the perfect centerpieces. Love the way all these elements go together!

One of the craziest things that happened that you would never know from the photos is the amount of rain and storms that happened right before the wedding. We drove from Dallas the day of the wedding in what felt like hurricane rains. I wasn’t sure if we would make it to the wedding or honestly, if the wedding would even happen! The roads were flooded into Granbury and when we arrived to the venue we had to unload the truck in pouring rains. Everyone was huddled under the little tin roof venue but about an hour later the rain stopped and cleared up for the evening. The planner’s husband and father of the bride spread out hay everywhere so guests wouldn’t have to step in muddy grass and before you knew it we were set for a perfect ceremony + reception. Also, I actually love how that hay makes the aisle look. This “Texas Meets New York” wedding has our hearts!
