City Garden Wedding // Brake & Clutch Warehouse // Michael + Bentley

Ummm hello fall! Hope everyone is staying warm and cozy and no one has washed away in all this rain! To keep the rainy day blues at bay I’m here to share with you a bright and colorful spring wedding to lift your spirits and remind you what the sun looks like!

We immediately fell in love with Bentley + Michael and their sweet love story. Two college sweethearts who got engaged their senior year of college and were so excited to get married and start their lives together. I kinda love the idea of starting their careers and their marriage at the same time-lots of symbolism there. Since they were both so busy with school, Betsy, mother of the bride did the majority of the planning alongside AK Event Design.

We loved working with Betsy + wedding planner Kristin and together we dreamt up an elegant garden party inside the industrial eclectic Brake + Clutch venue in Deep Ellum. We absolutely LOVE Brake + Clutch, it used to be an old brake and clutch warehouse and when it was turned into a wedding venue they managed to keep the old character and charm of the building.

I am just loving the perfect summer color palette from this wedding! Those ice blue bridesmaid dresses and the way to vibrant colors in the bouquets bounce right off them beautifully! Also, how much do you love the bridal party photos with at the eyeball?! So unique and so very Dallas. Sarah Kate, their photographer, is an actual genius with the most artistic eye-get it? Eye 🙂

I always have fun when we get to mix and match with styles, the challenge of creating a lush garden feel inside an industrial venue was super exciting! To garden up the look we used lots of greenery to create garland table runners along those wooden farm house tables. We also tried to carry the eye to the ceiling where we draped greenery from the chandelier. Lastly, the cute and cozy seating area created with furniture from Beautiful Event Rentals adds a whole lot to warm up the space.

Lastly, how cool is the live painting?! Wed on Canvas set up shop at the reception and painted the scene. Such a special memory that the happy couple can cherish forever. Obviously, we’re obsessed with Michael + Bentley and this wedding and everyone involved with creating this gem!
