Tutorial Tuesday // Mother’s Day DIY Floral Arrangement

Happy Monday and Mother’s Day Week (we get a week, right?)! This year’s Mother’s Day is a very special one for me because it’s my first one as a mom! My sweet Hunter boy is almost 11 months old and he makes me feel like the luckiest mom out there! Even though I’m ready to be spoiled rotten by my sweet husband and precious baby, I still can’t forget to show some love to my own mama, we’ll just have to share the day. I’m making this super simple and earthy floral arrangement for my mom and I know she is just going to love it!

We featured it in our newsletter last week and since it’s just so fun and easy to make, I figured I’d share it with y’all today too! BTW, are you receiving our newsletters? If not, sign up at the bottom of our homepage and get ready-we only send 1 a month but they are filled with lots of floral love! You don’t want to miss out!

This is my first DIY so I’m starting out with this super cute and inexpensive (Under $30) arrangement, it will live in your mama’s garden all season long.

Just follow these simple steps below for a fun and beautiful arrangement your mama will love:

Supplies: scissors, ribbon, moss, basket or pot of your choice (not pictured: soil, and garden shovel)

Flowers!!!

Pick 3-5 flowers and plants.  I chose 4 from my local nursery- BRUMLEY GARDENS check it out if you are in  East Dallas ☺

1. Caladium- fun and funky foliage
2. Purple Petunia- love the vibrant blooms
3. Easter Bonnet- smells amazing
4. White Zinnia- Hardy through the whole summer

Step 1. Arrange the flowers and plants into your container to your liking (make sure your container is water tight- this basket has a liner)

Step 2. Add soil all around the plants and cover with moss

Step 3.  Add a bow or any custom embellishments that your mama will love!

Step 4. Give it to your mama and tell her how much you love and appreciate her!

Extra tip: Once your mom is done enjoying the arrangement she can take the flowers and repot them in her garden to last all season.
